2008 Great Plains Poetry Pile-Up

Friday and Saturday, September 19-20

Kimmel Theatre at Midland Lutheran College Campus in Fremont will be hosting the 2008 Great Plains Poetry Pile-Up, an individual slam poetry contest featuring some fantastically talented poets. (Doubly talented because they can both write and perform!)

Though registration has closed for entering the contest, there's very little in this world more entertaining than good slam poetry, so put on your spectating hat and go spectate, spectators! I sometimes wonder, with its seamless integration of raw emotion and clever puns, why slam poetry isn't an Olympic sport--perhaps because slam poets don't wear leotards (often).
There is a $5 suggested donation at the door.

For more information, check out the 2008 Great Plains Poetry Pile-Up website at The Poetry Menu!
